Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1) is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i, 12.0, and 12.1 on the following Linux on IBM System z operating systems as 'database tier only' platforms:
Release 11i (11.5.10.2 + ATG PF.H.delta.7 (RUP 7) or higher), Release 12.0 (12.0.6 or higher), Release 12.1 (12.1.3 or higher):- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 5 (64-bit)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 6 (64-bit)
- Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 11 (64-bit)
This is a 'database tier only' or 'split tier configuration' certification where the application tier must be on a fully certified E-Business Suite platform (see My Oracle Support Certifications for more information). IBM's z systems fully support a mixed platform architecture with distributed Unix and Linux certified application tier servers for customers looking to run Oracle E-Business Suite on System z.
